Environmental (E), climatic (C) and Fire Behavior (F) classes characterize the cat resin transformer. The latest issue of IEC 60076-11:2004 Standard defines such classes:
| ENVIROMENTAL CLASS |
E0 | No condensation and negligible pollution (indoor installation in clean and dry ambient). |
|---|---|---|
| E1 | Occasional condensation and moderate pollution (these conditions may occur on denergized transformers). | |
| E2 | Consistent condensation or sever pollution condition or combination of two phenomena. These conditions may occur in outdoor installation | |
| CLIMATIC CLASS |
C1 | Indoor installation. The transformer is suitable for operation at ambient temperatures not below -5°C but may be exposed during transport and storage to ambient temperature down to -25°C. |
| C2 | Outdoor installation. The transformer is suitable for operation, transport and storage at ambient temperature down to -25°C. | |
| FIRE CLASS |
| F1 | No special fire hazard is envisaged. Except the characteristics inherent to the design of the transformer, no special measurement are taken to limit flammability. |
At present, Tesar is one of the few companies in the world who achieved this homologation in 2005 already.
In CESI’s website: www.cesi.it, in the section Electro-mechanical Manufacturers – CERTILIST – Sorting by Manufacturer, it is possible to see such certification.
